Unmasking The Kenya That We Want

#FixTheSoftware #ValueBasedSociety

Opinion Desk!
Do you care if you see public resources being vandalized or misused?
I think if I'm not wrong from my knowledge and interaction, majority of Kenyans have lived to adapt and adopt the new normal of I DON'T CARE mentality when it comes to public resources being vandalized or misused and as a result it has also contributed to the high levels of impunity, corruption and environment degradation for example garbage dumping anyhow among others.

Unless we fix our value system we will continue to witness our society's value fabric being torned apart in all sphere of our life leaving the next generation with almost nothing to build a sustainable future.

So what is value based society?

In my understanding this a system that upholds the rule of law as enshrined within some set of values that binds a nation together despite of our ethnicity, age, occupation etc.The values not only will be found written with bold ink on paper but would also be felt and practiced at all levels of the society.
A good example is, we don't need a police to watch over us to do what is right at all times. You will find in some places we have working traffic lights  which will still be backed up with traffic police just to make sure we are in the  right.

What are some of the things in your opinion that needs fixing from the 'software' perspective meanings soft skills or values?
