Happy International Day of the African Child (DAC) 2023

This year's them is - THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD IN THE DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT. #DigitalLiteracy The best advice is to teach our kids the advantages and disadvantages of whatever digital environment they encounter so that their natural curiosity can lead them to become the next generation of innovators.

In order to ensure that our children learn in a secure setting that fosters meaningful learning through both existing and emerging technology, parents have a significant responsibility to play.

 One Laptop Per Child Project

The Kenyan government formerly had a fantastic initiative called One Laptop Per Child, but it was eventually put on hold.

What would happen to our children if this program was fully implemented? Whatever we teach our children today as a nation in terms of education will ultimately be what we reap.

Therefore, regardless of where they live, kids shouldn't be left behind if we want to foster the future generation of programmers, inventors, scientists, etc. In conclusion, digital literacy should b in all schools as a core subject and supported by the necessary high-quality infrastructure.

To plan more events for both boys and girls, we would appreciate your support at any time. We appreciate everyone who helped with the event in various ways. We don't take the effort, time, resources, donations, etc. that our friends, family, and well-wishers have given to us for granted, and we feel that all we do will help to raise a new generation that will be responsible, hopeful, skilled, passionate, and knowledgeable, to name just a few qualities.

13 Years Of Mathare North Rangers F.C

DID YOU KNOW Mathare North Rangers F.C [Seniors 18+]

In 2010, my friends and I established Mathare North Rangers F.C., whose primary goal is to play in local community competitions and develop the next generation of football players in line with the Wilsen Initiative (Wi) tenets.

Even if our goals go far beyond competing in the local league, we don't have the resources or support in place to compete in the federation league or even higher competitions.

I had the pleasure of watching a fantastic match on Sunday between our club Mathare North Rangers F.C. and 11Brothers, which we won 3-1. The match was played at Drive Inn Primary School and was part of the MYSA Mathare North zone competition.

It's crucial to emphasize that as Mathare North Rangers FC enters its fourth generation of players, we are now creating a new squad that we hope will stay with us for at least one year before moving on to greener pastures outside of our neighborhood. Our Team Philosophy

"The philosophy of our team is to have a group of youthful talent and a select group of seasoned players who can inspire the young stars to achieve more, be more, and be different. We make an effort to uphold the highest standards of individual and group discipline that ensures everyone becomes a winner. We still lack the strength to support our club at higher professional levels in the future, but we'll work to Do More, Be More, and Be Different. - Wilson Masaka (TM)

 The Challenge

 I'm pleased to have reached a major milestone since inception (13 years and counting) despite the numerous hurdles that have prevented us from going much beyond our limit. These are but a few examples;
  1.  We have Mathare North Rangers U12 and U17 junior squads.
  2. Arranged a series of elite friendly games especially with Kenya Premier League teams.
  3. The Mathare North Festive Season tournament winners.
  4. Discovered new top talent who later got job opportunities through our team where they were recruited.
  5. Other local Football Federation League teams have signed some of our players.
Resource Mobilization For the Senior Team. - Mathare North Rangers F.C

The majority of our players do not have steady sources of income, but we have adopted the concept of short- to long-term players contributing to a common objective over the years.

We have rescheduled the purchase of a new uniform set and a few footballs from our little efforts for the second week of July, but anyone in my network who would like to help us attain this goal is more than welcome to do so.

Football Shoe Campaign - Play Safe With Dignity

Football Shoe Campaign, also known as Play Safe With Dignity, is one of the ongoing campaigns that you can support at any moment.

More than ten years ago, I began a drive to gather football equipment and resources for Mathare North teams, particularly for the U10-U15 age group, to enable them to play in a more respectful manner and in a secure setting.

My mission is to guide the children and youth through an experience that inspires them to Do More, Be More, and Be Different. In addition, I work to instill in them the moral principles that will enable them to aspire to be leaders and social change agents in our society.

We have reached more than 700+ young people and children since we started with the help of many people, especially my family, well wishers and friends.

Although I am aware that the shoes won't last forever, the youngsters will always remember the experience we gave them.

My goal is to provide every Mathare North football player between the ages of U10 and U15 with a pair of shoes.

These players typically come from impoverished communities where purchasing football shoes isn't high on their parents' or guardians' list of necessary purchases. Inspired Quote Bits & Pieces +throughMylens

"The best ideas usually emerge from a genuine passion and need to address a social issue, not necessarily when you have everything you need to get started." - Wilson Masaka, Youth Advocate and Social Entrepreneur.

I sincerely thank everyone who has supported our recent and previous calls to action.

The Power Of Co-founding - Beyond Idea

#SheCan #IamSHERO #DoMore #BeMore #BeDifferent #MeaningfulYouthEngagement #SelfMade #LifeLongLearning #QualityEducation #SkillUpGirlsEdition #PressStart #SelfMade #SelfDiscovery

I am pleased to collaborate with my sister Esther Mazira, who is the co-founder of I Am a sHERO - SHE CAN. Her tale of perseverance, focus, self discipline, 'Self Made', education, career, football and passion, to name just a few, encouraged me to take action and establish a platform that would train, mentor and give spotlight more stories from the sHEROs.

We had a terrific inaugural girls football competition launch under Wilsen Initiative (Wi) for teams in Mathare North on June 1st, which also happens to be my birthday. I'm hopeful we'll be able to secure the necessary financing and different support to hold numerous events both inside and outside of our immediate community.

You can always recommend us for collaboration and additional support, so let's not allow this excellent idea fade away. Call To Action Last but not least, let me use this chance to express my gratitude to everyone who supported our call to action throughout the event that just ended and the preceding calls.

The Idea Bubble - Don't Let It Bust!

Many young people have brilliant ideas, but they are either unsure about where to begin, who to believe, or what to do in general. As a youth consultant, one of the sessions I conduct with young people is called "Press Start." It is based on the idea that before producing anything worthwhile with a purpose, one should first have a better understanding of oneself.

Capturing The Moment #Quotes

" You can't do it alone, but if we work together, we can move forward, even if it's just a little bit at a time. – Wilson Masaka, social entrepreneur, youth advocate, and founder of Wilsen Initiative (Wi). " The ability to own an idea and give it life is a skill that not everyone possesses. – Wilson Masaka, Social Entrepreneur, Youth Advocate, and Founder of Wilsen Initiative (Wi)

 The Genesis

"As the co-founder and team leader of the IaM a sHERO - She Can project under Wilsen Initiative (Wi), I'm proud to have reached this significant milestone. What was just an idea is now growing into more seeds of optimism, resilience, and self-worth, to name a few.

I aM a sHERO - SHE CAN concept is as a result of my path of self-reflection. Despite the fact that I aM a sHERO - SHE CAN was formed based on my own personal experiences, I firmly believe that there are many other sHEROs out there with whom we would want to work with, gain insight from their experiences, and eventually produce beneficial ripple effects." - Esther Mazira, Co-founder I aM a sHERO - SHE CAN.
