The Early Bird - Bioempathy

 Self Made Series +throughMylens

#SelfMade

Be like a bird +throughMylens #BioEmpathy #BioMimicry

πŸ“ The early bird catches the worm.  🐦

Yesterday, a bird landed near where I was sitting next to the large dust bin.  I remained silently, curiously watching what the bird would do next, asking myself several questions, such as, "Will the bird be afraid of my presence?" And many more thoughts followed.

#POV and Quotes

~ "The bird never plans for its next meal, yet it knows where, how, what, and when to look for it." - Wilson Masaka, Youth Advocate a s Social Entrepreneur.

~ "The bird that landed on the weak branch was not afraid to fall since it relied on its wings to fly." - Wilson Masaka, Youth Advocate a s Social Entrepreneur.

~ "God gives every bird his worm, but He does not throw it into the nest. - P. D. James

~ "It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad. - C. S. Lewis

I have never encountered someone who doesn't have a story; we all have one, but how, when, what, where, who, and why we tell it varies and presents a barrier for many.

Book me for a skill-up master class, and storytelling will be one of the sessions.

Social Media 101 - Grassroots Football

 #ContentCreation

Does your football team have a social media presence?

I follow a variety of football clubs, from grassroots to top tier, and to be honest, there is still a significant gap in participation, content development, and overall strategy for how to use socal media platforms successfully and efficiently.

On the flip side there are club that have mastered  the craft and it is always interesting to follow, like, comment and share their content.

One of the most difficult tasks for any social media administrator is providing consistent and original content.  It's amusing to me when a football team just posts future fixtures and only posts when they win.

Take notice that in football, there are three possible outcomes: draw, win, and lose.  Don't be afraid to post about your loss; it is what it is.

Here is a list you can consider when you run out of ideas for content to post on your football club social media pages. +throughMylens @Wilson Masaka

1. The current fixture and the next three games to come.

2. League standings.

3. Match statistics.

4. Players match stats.

5. Team and players Bio or profile.

5. Transfers news

6. New signings.

7. Brand identity (philosophy, team song etc)

7. Throwbacks, down the memory lane.

8. Coach and team vision (quotes)

9. Game posters before and after.

10. External meaning content; Follow, comment and share

11. Short documentary

12. Match highlights shots (videos).

12. Pre and post match

13. The fanbase acknowledgement, vox pops, POV etc.

14. Pro football - be bold to condemn the bad and praise the good.

15. Featured player - Player of The Match

16. Pictorials from Warm ups, line up, squad etc.

17. Congratulate and acknowledge other clubs for great performance or achievement even though it depends with other factors.

18. Call ups to the national teams.

19. Players and team management welfare.

20. Live streaming

Etc.

#StoryTelling Quotes

It is an honour to be one of the trainers who are conducting sessions at MYSA Kenya during the April school break as part of the Youth Employability Programme (YEP).

πŸ“Œ The objective is to cultivate the appropriate mindset while imparting relevant skills that will inspire young people to engage in learning and earning as content creators, rather than only as consumers of available resources.

Life Series - The Self Made

Life Series Bits and Pieces #SelfMade

πŸ“Œ There's lights at the end of the tunnel, NEVER GIVE UP!

Just thoughtful, it can take a while before you convince people that you can do it.

Think about this...

~You make it for the first time; they will say you were lucky.

~ You do it the second time, and they will say you were helped.

~ You do it for the third time, and they will say maybe you're using witchcraft, aka juju.

~ You do it for the fourth time; they will claim that they knew you would make it.

The moral of the story is…

Jus seet work in silence, focus and let your work speak for itself. Never shy away from seeking help and pray for God's guidance within the process because there will always be some invisible force fighting hard to scuttle your good progress.

Football Made Me Series Edition - 4 Principles of the Game

πŸ“Έ 2012 Hamburg, Germany.

The four basics of football, according to my book.

There are four principles of the game that I know, and I believe, if mastered, can produce good results; that is, the principles of numbers, space, shape and time.

What I mean...

1. The principle of numbers – We play 11 vs 11, and sometimes the numbers can be reduced due to foul play that leads to a red card. The team should always be aware of how they play as a team within the field of play. How to defend and attack is another key issue that also involves numbers; it's a plus-and-minus game within the space.

2. The principle of space – How the team positions itself during different transitions from defending, attacking and keeping the ball (possession). There's a reason why the field of play is marked, and every player must understand every area of the field and play to what is expected. A good example if a player makes a foul tackle inside the box that leads to a penalty and sometimes red card. It is unfortunate there are many players that just play without considering these basic principles.

3. The principle of time – Every match is played within a time frame. Players should be aware and adjust the style of play considering the time factor versus the scoreline. It is quite tough to win a match by playing the same style for 90+ minutes.

The coach in particular should be active in the game, which we also refer to reading the game and adjust appropriately.

4. The principle of shape – Here I refer to the team formation and how the team generally utilise their numbers within the field of play (space) in different segments of the field.

Have you ever heard of the term V-shape or maintain shape in football? There are many  common phrases used by many that usually calls for playing in a certain way at different transitions.

Lastly, I would encourage the coaches to develop their own philosophies rather than just copying for the sake of it. Open your mind and attitude to new ways of doing things, and never stop learning from anyone and any source, and most importantly, develop a working philosophy and game plan.

Skill Up Master Session at MYSA Kenya

Three Core Competencies for Effective Teaching and Facilitation

Did you know you can have the skill, but teaching the same requires extra skills that border on teaching pedagogy?

Here we go;

1. How to plan/structure your lesson or session.

2. What to teach.

3. How to teach.

#ShortAssignment #TrainingAndFacilitation

Currently I'm engaged in training young people who selected from MYSA catchment areas, offering classes under the Youth Employability Programme (YEP).

The programme aims at equipping more than 75 young people with essential employability, digital literacy and entrepreneurship skills during the April school break.

The training will cover a range of critical topics, including photography, financial literacy, videography, storytelling, digital skills for safe and effective usage, and online research, just to mention a few.

Entrepreneurship is also a key component of the programme, with sessions on business idea generation, problem-solving and pitching designed to help participants transform their ideas into viable ventures using the Business Model Canvas (BMC).

Life Series - Save Yourself from Yourself

Life Series +throughMylens

#SkillUp #SelfMade

πŸ“ SAVE YOURSELF FROM YOURSELF

As a youth advocate and social entrepreneur, I want to spend more time on personal development topics under the umbrella of the Self Made Series (SMS), tracing and documenting pathways that make a young person succeed in any environment or situation they find themselves in.

In my pursuit I want to help the young people from underserved backgrounds to learn, grow and explore more possibilities for success.

#TopicHighlight

πŸ“Œ Save Yourself from YOUrself

What do I mean...

1. Procrastination
2. Negative thoughts
3. Time wastage for example unnecessary screen time on mobile phone, TV etc.
4. Bad influence or peer groups
5. Lack of motivation
6. Lack of self awareness ( What do you want  and what are you doing about it?)
7. Lack of financial literacy
8. Low or no interest for upskilling
9. Blame game
10. Doing things to impress others.

The New 'Error' in the Digital Era.

In general, there is a trend in the digital environment that I refer to as "trapped in the scroll and click maze," which continues to rob many young people of their future.  In case you didn't know, one of the most time-consuming activities is utilising the internet and related applications such as social media without a strategy.

There is some engineering behind how content is structured to lead you in unexpected directions and keep you engaged to specific paths.  This is what I'm talking about: the scroll and click effect of the new media.

πŸ“ The Learning Curve

I understand that self-learning (self-paced learning) is difficult, but it is quite achievable if you have a strategy and maintain a regular learning pattern throughout the curve.

SKILL UP

πŸ“Œ The More You Learn, You Earn More.

Book a session with me to learn how to break free from the chains of scrolling and clicking and create the future you want or deserve utilising the same infrastructure.
