Master Class - Photography At Washikadau

It is always a great pleasure to share insights and learning with trainees at Washikadau where I shared knowledge as follows;

Building a Name as a Photographer

  1.  Leveraging on social media.

  4. Marketing Strategy ( Networks, clubs, meet up)
  5. Strong Portfolio ( Assignment handled, Style, Quality, Pricing and USP).

 Tips Pre and Post Shoot 


  1. Tool Kit – Know your camera and have the right gear (tripod, camera, lens etc) for the job. 
  2. Visit the venue before the event day or some hours earlier (Events Photography).
  3. Understand the game (Sport photography).
  4. Have the program at hand and plan accordingly (Events Photography). 
  5. Visualize the shot in your mind {Mental picture}.
  6. Research for ideas – You aren't the first photographer, there must be good ideas you can borrow.
  7. Make more than one shot, select later! (Wildlife photography vs. fashion photography). 
  8. Apply creativity where and when necessary for example arrange the setting, work with stylish, extra edit etc. 
  9. Shoot in RAW format
  10. Don't forget to store, share your best photos (Marketing) ..Ask for permission to share especially where a person is the main main subject. 
More Than a Photographer! 

  1. Technical and research skills 
  2. Creative and Innovative skills
  3. Business skills (legal, branding, packaging, marketing, pricing, after sales [birthday wishes, christmas etc]). 
  4. Soft Skills (Customer care, engaging, professional, Communication, Presentation etc.)
