General Overview
We have more that 30+ teams in Mathare North ward. All of the junior teams and senior teams in Mathare North Community, particularly those in the Mathare ward, have access to the same football field, which is located in Ruaraka consistency which is one of the challenges we have in accomodating the raising number of teams and players.
Interestingly, this field is located inside Drive inn Primary School and is not for the general public, however it has hosted various football events and produced many star players in our community.
Our goal as Wilsen initiative (Wi) is to help both boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 15 acquire the most urgent requirement for the game (balls, uniforms, training bibs etc) through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), but we also encourage Individual Social Responsibility (ISR), which is a new way of thinking about problem-solving starting from the perspective of an individual's effort, the change that adheres to the Start With Me philosophy.
Generally, sports has the capacity to transform our society for the better, if we actively and purposefully involve the children and youth with the utmost professionalism, provide appropriate resources, quality training, exposure, and support.
After everything is said and done, we will save a lot of youth from poverty, drug abuse, and idleness, to name a few things." - Wilson Masaka

"Some dreams come with expiry date attached. I am aware that I can no longer pursue my dream of being a professional football player, but I will do everything in my power to help the next generation by participating in the Wilsen Initiative, or the "Wi-effect." - Wilson Masaka
