Founders Journey Bits and Pieces +throughMylens - Wilsen initiative -360 Degree

Founders Journey Bits and Pieces +throughMylens - Wilsen initiative

In 1997, I came up with a plan to use my experience to guide other young people toward their own definitions of success through a planned sequence of activities that included football, knowledge sharing, field trips, and other activities. The concept underwent various phases before becoming Wilsen Initiative (Wi) and +throughMylens / Consult.

Since the beginning, it has been a difficult road, with achieving the project goals without the required tools and resources being the biggest challenge. Despite all the project obstacles, I'm proud of what I've managed to accomplish thanks to the help of family, friends, and well-wishers.

If you genuinely believe in your dream, don't give up too soon, is my counsel to any founder going through a difficult time. Before giving up on your dream endeavor because of the numerous challenges you are encountering, ask yourself WHY you started the journey.

It's normal to feel overburdened, exhausted, bored, uninterested, stuck, etc., but how you approach each step of the journey will determine how near you are to your goal.

Here are 10 things I usually do when I experience a creative block or run out of motivation or energy.

  1. Ask WHY I started (Me Time).
  2. Reflect back and count the impact.
  3. Ask why other people believe in me and the support they have offered to see me win. (Me Time).
  4. Go to the archives find happy moments that will bring that good feeling and energy (Pictures, videos, recognition etc).
  5. Read and watch inspirational stories. Remember you're not alone in this journey.
  6. Take a break and if I don't miss anything about the project then it means I have to change something or drop it.
  7. Connect with people who will always check on my progress (Mentors).
  8.  Request for help (Tag Team).
  9. Document moments in my project journey (Build Memory Bank).
  10. Have an open mindset on failure, rejection etc. The best part is to use these moments to learn and do better.

It's difficult to pursue my dreams when I lack the resources to do so, but I won't give up because this is just one obstacle I must overcome. I will keep trying my best because it is my dream and passion to see Wilsen Initiative (Wi) realize its vision using every available resource.
