Happy to have finished the Introduction to Digital Journalism course offered by Reuters online. We are in the best possible era, and I think that there is even more to come in the form of Massive Open Online Courses, or MOOCs, where students may access, follow, and exchange educational resources from the best educational institutions in the world.
The cost of internet is typically declining, and smart phones are becoming more widely available and inexpensive for everyone with excellent applications. In a setting where there are several distractions, particularly online, we need also pay attention to the process of self-paced learning.
Point Of View
It is easier to finish a course with regular classes with a teacher and other students than it is to do it alone (self paced learning), especially if the course is also free.
In a self paced learning (SPL) self-discipline is a key value that is required, as well as a knowledge of your motivations for enrolling in the course (your "WHY").
