Self Awareness Virtual Session With Bora Mentors

 This evening, I had the distinct honour of speaking as a guest speaker at the BORA Mentors Pool's monthly virtual meetup.

This is a group of like-minded people with similar interests and values of making an impact the society through mentorship. Together, they are leveraging their experien

ces, knowledge, and skills to improve society in their own special ways. Among the many inquiries I received, I would like to share the following two;

 Q1:- What do you do to promote awareness in yourself? Here is my opinion;

   1. Set aside time to be by yourself.
   2. Jot down your thoughts and feelings in a journal or using your preferred device, such as a smartphone.
  3. Express your ideas and opinions for consideration or response.
  4. Travel to new places and, in particular, try out some new or seemingly impossible things.
  5. Provide feedback and ask for it.
  6. Possess a flexible schedule
  7. Develop the ability to self-reflect.
  8. Set some flexibility in your schedule.
 9. Have time where there's nothing planned

 Q2: What are some subjects we need to share or talk about with young people, especially those from marginalized communities? Here is my proposal;

  1. Relationship :- When discussing relationships, keep in mind that there are various kinds, such as those with coworkers, family members, girlfriends and boyfriends, etc.

 2. Employability :- How to rekindle optimism in a faltering economy. There are many young people with all the necessary credentials but still remain unemployed. 3. Financial Education

4. The digital economy and literacy

5. Soft skill development.

6. Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).

Thanks Grace Mbaye and team for the invitation.
